Services for Dixie Jackson, 60, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
Mrs. Jackson died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1940, in Leeton, Mo., the daughter of Chester W. and Kathryn Geneva (Baker) Bills.
She was raised in the Kansas City area and graduated from Raytown (Mo.) High School. She attended Penn Valley Community College, Kansas City, Mo., and studied theatre arts. She moved to Eudora in the early 1990s.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and had worked several years as a clerk at Kansas University Medical Center. She was an active member of the Sports Car Club of America-Kansas City region.
She was active during the late 1970s and early 1980s in Theatre Under the Stars and performed in "No Strings," "Oklahoma," and "Annie Get Your Gun."
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Jackson-Hays, Eudora, and Lisa Braught, Shawnee; a son, Mitch Jackson, Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Deanna Polk, Lenexa; and six grandchildren.
Her companion, E. Tom Newcomer, died in 1995.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Dixie L. Jackson Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
