Funeral services for Elva Pauline Young Smock, 92, Eudora, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale.
Mrs. Smock died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Baldwin Care Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1908, in Bigelow, the daughter of Thomas and Ida (Hayes) Walls.
Mrs. Smock worked in the kitchen at Lawrence Memorial Hospital during the early 1960s and then at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto, until her retirement in 1971.
She married Everette E. Young on April 3, 1926, in Concordia. He died October 28, 1969. She then married Cecil Smock on Sept. 27, 1972, in Holton. He died Sept. 5, 1987.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Young, Green Forest, Ark.; Darrel L. Young, Baldwin; and Donald D. Young, Eudora; a brother, William Walls, Talequah, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Two infant sons, Lawrence Everette and Charles Lavern Young, died earlier.
