Scouts hold Blue and Gold Banquet
Cub Scouts took the cake at Eudora Pack 3064's Blue and Gold Banquet held Saturday evening at Eudora High School.
The annual event features a parent/cub bake-off for "bragging" rights in such dessert areas as taste, scouting theme and creativity.
Rank advancements and the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouting's highest honor, were awarded.
Second-year Webelos David Lewis, Chris Robinson, Brian Talbert and Nick Tillman participated in the Arrow of Light ceremony. Jim Adams also earned the award, which requires earning the Webelos badge (the fourth rank) and at least eight activity badges.
Morgan McNally, Pelathe district's new Scout Executive and Glenn Jackson and John Scott of Eudora Troop 64 were special guests. Cubmaster Mike McCurdy presided.
First-place dessert winners were Ethan Becker, Scouting Around the World; Lucas Becker, Scouting theme; David Lewis, most unusual; Hawley Montgomery, creativity; John and Zach Chumbley, taste; and Jonathan Morrison, chocolate.
