Graveside services for Homer G. French, 92, Eudora, were Thursday, March 22, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mr. French died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Eudora Nursing Center.
He was born June 2, 1908, in Pauline, the son of Jake and Alpha Retta (Glen) French. He was raised in Eudora and graduated from Eudora High School. He moved back to Eudora in the late 1990s from Stockton.
Mr. French served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mechanic and owned a Sinclair station in North Lawrence. He also owned a restaurant in North Lawrence and a service station in DeSoto, and worked as a carpenter in Eudora.
Survivors include three sons, Delbert French and Bud French, both of Lawrence, and Homer L. French, Canyon City, Colo.; a sister, Madge Torneden, Baldwin; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Doris Maninger and Carol Spillman, died earlier.
The family suggests memorials to Eudora Nursing Center, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.
