Graveside services for Rose Cribbs, 75, Caney, formerly of Havana, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26 at Havana Cemetery, with Pastor Sam Roundtree of the Lighthouse Community Church presiding. A reception will follow at the Havana City Hall.
Mrs. Cribbs died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born May 21, 1926, in Independence, the daughter of Willie Elihu and Rosa Alice (Medley) Loggan. She grew up in the Wayside area and attended high school in Wayside, graduating in 1944. She also lived in Independence, Lawrence, Eudora and Havana.
Mrs. Cribbs worked for Electra in Independence and also for Hallmark Cards and Clinton Place Apartments in Lawrence.
She was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church of Caney, Lone Cherry Southern Baptist, rural Havana Community Baptist, and Family of Faith in Eudora.
She married Carl N. Cribbs Nov. 27, 1943, in Independence. He died Nov. 16, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Deena M. Jackson, Havana; a son, Joe Cribbs, Eudora; a brother, Billy D. Loggan, Havana; a sister, Nora A. Gruver, Junction City; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Carolee Cribbs, two brothers, Max Bruce Loggan and Richard Leroy Brown, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Graves Memorial Chapel in Caney.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Cribbs Memorial Fund, sent in care of the Graves Funeral Home, 107 N. State Street, Caney 67333.
