Services for Lucille Jackson, 86, Gardner, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner with Eastern Star Services by Gardner Chapter No. 236. Private burial will be later in De Soto Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Baldwin Care Center.
She was born May 29, 1916, in De Soto, the daughter of John Lee and Alice Gordon Blaylock. She grew up in De Soto and graduated from De Soto High School in 1935. A lifelong Johnson County resident, she moved in 1969 to Spring Hill and in 1997 to Gardner.
Mrs. Jackson worked at the Johnson County Clerk's Office and the family restaurant, B&B Cafe, both in Olathe. She was a member of the De Soto Eastern Star Chapter No. 78 and a 50-year member of Gardner Eastern Star Chapter No. 236. She was also a member of OURS Dance Club in Lawrence and a volunteer with the Johnson County Election Board, Johnson County Fair and Gardner Senior Citizens.
She married Chuck Freeman. He died in 1952. She later married Paul Jackson, who died in 1999.
Survivors include two sisters, Maye Kafer, Coos Bay, Ore., and Merle Holladay, Eudora, and nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Gardner Eastern Star or Mid-America Hospice. They may be sent in care of Bruce Funeral Home, P.O. Box 192, Gardner 66030.
