- Rural residents living southeast of Eudora may want to mark Wednesday on their calendars. That's when the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission will consider an application from Hamm Quarry of Perry to expand its operation at 1200 and 2400 roads, about two miles east of Eudora High School on the Johnson-Douglas county line. Eudora Planning Commission Chairman Kurt von Achen said the Eudora Planning Commission would meet jointly with the county's Planning Commission because the quarry was near enough to incorporated Eudora.
