Communitywide lighting contest begins Dec. 11
The Eudora Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its "Light Up Eudora" contest again this year. The contest rewards the area's best holiday light displays. Entries will be judged Dec. 11 and 12.
Contestants should have their lights turned on between 6 and 10 p.m. for judging.
Grand prize is $100; first place township and city, $75 each; second place overall, $50; eight honorable mentions, $25 each.
The contest is open to any area resident with a 542 telephone prefix. If the entry is in the rural community, directions to the display must be included on the registration form.
The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Dec. 10. An entry form can be found on Page 2A.
Registration forms can be turned in at Eudora City Hall, 4 E. Seventh St., C&S Market, 1402 Church St., Byrne's Pharmacy, 101 W. 10th St., or The Eudora News, 1402-B Church St.
