New decorations lighting up Eudora
Eudora is putting on the ritz again for the holiday season.
It's been several years since the local Jaycees had a holiday lighting ceremony at CPA Park. With the city of Eudora's purchase of new holiday decorations with help from the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, the two groups are christening the accouterments.
The city and Chamber will have a downtown lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday at Eudora City Hall, 4 East Seventh St., to turn on the new holiday decorations purchased in July. Refreshments will be served at city hall following the ceremony.
Santa Claus will make an appearance at Sunday's ceremony. The event will also include performances of holiday music.
Also, Mayor Ron Conner will kick-off the Mayor's Christmas Tree campaign, which provides holiday gift baskets for Eudorans in need.
