- There will be an old-school ride Sunday for an old-school kind of girl. It will be the second monthly fund-raising event to pay for a statue of Eudora Fish –- daughter of the town's founder and city namesake. This time it's catered to the rough and tumble bikers with hearts of gold.

- The pictures on the wall of Hack's Outfitters are numerous and the faces range from joyful to tired as each person holds a trophy catch. The trophies are giant flathead catfish, a mottled and flattened out version of other more accessible catfish such as the bullhead and the more often seen channel cat. These beasts can grow to nearly 100 pounds, and the big ones have been swimming in nearby rivers and lakes, since Nixon was in the White House.

- Sign, sign everywhere a new sign ordinance. It took nine months and both a recommendation from the Eudora Planning Commission and ultimately direction from the Eudora City Council, but the city will soon have an updated set of sign codes.
