- Eudora’s year tough to beat
- June 29, 2006
- The 2005-2006 Eudora sports year was a hard one. A hard one for the school’s trophy cases that is, as the glass cases in the commons area saw more action the past year than most years combined as new pieces of hardware were inserted on what seemed like a regular basis.
- Big air to spare
- June 29, 2006
- No, you can’t do that. Rob Cattau, the 29-year-old Shawnee resident seen flying 10 feet over the water in the picture on the right, said he lost his superman complex years ago. That trick, it’s old, he said. He doesn’t do anything crazy anymore, not with a wife at home and a full-time job that requires him to be healthy and alert every day. Still, launching one’s self through the air is not easy, and if you’re making your first foray on a wakeboard, you won’t be able to do it. You won’t be able to do it on your second trip to the Kansas City Watersports cable park either — not on your fifth, your 10th or your 25th trip. But get addicted to the rush that is wakeboarding at the park just north of Paola and eventually you may be able to fly like Cattau.
