Seventh grade basketball
The seventh-grade varsity girls Cardinals lost to Linwood Thursday, 30-15. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Valerie Pringle with five points. McKenzie Oller and Annie Beck had four each and Emily Durkin had two.
The team finished third in the Baldwin Basketball Tournament this weekend. The Cardinals lost to Wellsville 30-11 in the first game. The leading scorer was Pringle with seven points. Danelle Topil and Emma Beck each had two.
In the second game the Cardinals beat Anderson County, 30-19. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Madison Maring with nine points, Pringle, five points, Beck and Jennifer Pyle four points, Sarah Kruger three points, and Topil and Rayah Kobza two points each.
The Eudora girls seventh grade junior varsity basketball team lost a number of close games through the last week.
The team first slipped up Thursday against Basehor-Linwood, falling 17-11. Tesla Hauge scored seven points. Taylor Powell and Lauren Goombi each added two.
The team traveled Saturday for a tournament at Central Heights. Eudora fell in the first game, 14-11, to Osawatomie. Cameron Stude scored four points. Kyleigh Price added three and Kaitlyn Heier and Robbi Lycan each put in two points.
In the second game at Central Heights, the Cardinals fell to St. Rose, 30-10. Stude scored four points, while Heier, Lycan and Price each added two.
The team lost Tuesday to Prairie View, 23-7. Hauge scored five points while Tailer Jiminez had two.
