Army commissions Everley
Dr. Patrick Everley was recently commissioned as a captain in the U.S. Army, graduating from the Army Medical Department's Officer Basic Leaders Course May 24 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
The Officer Basic Leaders Course consisted of both classroom and field training including individual and small-unit leadership exercises, day and night land navigation, weapons qualifications, tactical road marches and convoy operations. While at the course, Everley also was certified as a combat lifesaver.
Everley's first assignment is at the Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, where he will perform toxicology studies.
He is the son of Phil and Helen Everley and graduated from Eudora High School in 1997.
