Boys Nation Senators named
The American Legion Boys State of Kansas recently announced its two delegates selected by their peers to represent Kansas at the 2007 Boys Nation program in Washington, D.C. July 20 to 28. Ten students from across the state of Kansas were selected as finalists. Two winners and two alternates were chosen.
Thomas Gregory, Fort Scott, and Paul Baumgardner, Louisburg, were selected to represent the state as senators. Jeremy Harding, Olathe, and Logan Keener, Baldwin City -- Eudora High, were chosen as alternates.
At American Legion Boys Nation, the leaders -- who excelled at their respective Boys States -- are introduced to the structure and function of the federal government.
Other finalists were Dallas Funk, El Dorado; Andrew Wojtanik, Overland Park; Joe Blessing, Leawood; Michael Lear, Moline; Jack Price, Pittsburg; and Spencer Harding, Galena.
