Business briefs
Carolyn Bloom, of Bloom & Associates Therapy, Eudora, represented physical therapists in Kansas as chief delegate to the American Physical Therapy Association's meeting Feb. 13 to 18 in Boston.
As a member of the association's Public Relations Advisory Panel, she was interviewed as an exercise expert by The Oakland Tribune in California. She also was appointed federal affairs liaison of the Section on Health Policy and Administration and gave a presentation on continued competency tools for therapists.
Bloom practices in Eudora, Lawrence and Topeka.
Former Eudora News editor Vickie Hull, a licensed marriage and family therapist with Lawrence Therapy Services, attended the 64th American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Annual Conference in Austin, Texas.
Among the workshops she attended:
- "To Leave or to Stay: Working with Couples on the Brink," focusing on helping couples determine whether to divorce or continue working on their marriage.
- "Neurobiology of Child Trauma," addressing the psychological and neurobiological effects of trauma for child victims and how to address these effects through play therapy.
