Cheerleaders
earn top rating
The Eudora High School cheerleaders earned a I (top rating) on their overall performance and brought home the I rating top performance trophy from competition Feb. 24 at Baldwin High School. The judges also awarded the cheerleaders with a trophy for best technique out of all the schools competing.
The cheerleaders competed against 4A, 5A and 6A high schools in the area including Baldwin, Bonner Springs, Topeka Seaman and Wichita Collegiate.
The girls also received numerous medals and honorable ratings for individual and partner performances.
In addition, Sam Martinez, Michelle Smith, Catherine Klotz, Kim Scherman, Heather Whitten and Allison Hoover received a I rating on their group dance.
Cheerleading and mascot clinics and tryouts will be March 13 to 16 at the high school.
The Eudora High School forensics team traveled Feb. 24 to Wellsville.
Becky Dreifuss and Terry Barnett placed sixth in duet acting. Their performance qualified them for the state festival.
