Mass of Christian burial for Paul J. Born, 87, Lawrence, was Monday, March 12, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial with military honors was at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Eudora.
Mr. Born died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Windsor Place in Lawrence.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1372 in Lawrence and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6654 in De Soto.
He married Arvilla Grannemann on Nov. 10, 1942, in California. She died Nov. 14, 1991. He married I. Lorraine Jones on April 17, 1993, in Eudora. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Marilyn K. Altemus, Poquoson, Va., Phyllis L. Stone, Lawrence, Diane M. Nichols, Wichita, and Nancy J. Boyd, Bellevue, Neb.; three sons, Kenneth Born, Crestview, Fla., Michael Born, Eudora, and Douglas Born, Poquoson; four brothers, Alban Born, Great Plains, John Born, Wichita, Don Born, St. Paul, and William Born, Denver; two sisters, Veronice Born, Dodge City, and Rosemary Duran, Erie, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Oncology Department at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence 66044.
