Pre-application meeting
The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, 200 Maine, Suite B, will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday to provide information regarding registration and licensing of family daycare homes.
Kansas law 65-501 requires that homes be registered or licensed when childcare is provided away from the child's own home for one or two children more than 20 hours a week total time or for three or more children.
Total time is determined by adding together the time each child is cared for weekly. When care is provided for only relative's children, registration or licensing is not required.
Childcare will not be provided during the pre-application meeting.
For information, call the health department at 843-3060.
