Band performs
The Eudora High School Cardinal Regiment Marching Band performed Oct. 13 at the First Annual Basehor-Linwood Festival of Bands.
With the torrential downpour and constant thunderstorms Saturday morning, the festival was moved inside the high school gym.
The Cardinal Regiment performed its contest show featuring the music of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" by Danny Elfman and received an overall II rating (Excellent) from the three judges.
The Eudora band includes five seniors, four juniors, 13 sophomores and nine freshmen.
The Cardinal Regiment will perform at the final home game of the year this Friday as the football team takes on De Soto.
For the first time in several years, the band will also be heading to an away game Oct. 25 at Baldwin.
The final performance and festival for the 2007 Cardinal Regiment will be Oct. 27 at the Neewollah Festival in Independence. The band will perform in the Grand Parade as well as the Neewollah Marching Festival.
