ominations are being accepted through Nov. 16 for the Eudora schools Teacher of the Year. The award will recognize the district's outstanding certified teachers who excel in the areas of content expertise, student success, innovation and service to the profession.

District staff members, parents, students and community members may submit nominations.

To nominate an outstanding Eudora teacher, submit a letter of nomination explaining why the nominee is deserving of being named Eudora Schools Teacher of the Year. All nominations submitted before the deadline will be considered by committees that are made up of a diverse group of members.

In the state's Kansas Teacher of the Year process, candidates first are nominated and considered at their respective buildings. Each school district will choose one teacher of the year from the pool of nominees; from this group of candidates, one elementary and one secondary teacher of the year will be selected. The final announcement of the district's two Teachers of the Year will be made in the spring.

Nomination letters may be sent to the Eudora Schools district office, 1002 Elm, P.O. Box 500, Eudora 66025.

All nominations must be postmarked by Nov. 16 in order to be considered.
