Extension council elections
The annual Douglas County Extension Council election will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Douglas County Extension Office, 2110 Harper Street, Lawrence. The purpose of the election is to fill the Extension council seats. Each year 12 individuals are selected for the council.
A nominating committee has selected the following nominees who have indicated they would serve if elected: Rich Barr, Luke Ulrich and Mike Wintermantel, Agriculture; Jennifer Mitchell, Jane Fevurly, and Ann Chapman, Family and Consumer Science; Bob Rhoton, Ann Peuser, and Paul Groundwater, Economic Development; and Trent Flory, Craig Shultz, and Keri Cheek, 4-H Youth Development.
Any Douglas County resident 18 years of age is eligible to vote and/or serve on the council. All Douglas County residents eligible to vote are encouraged to stop in at the Douglas County Extension Office and cast a ballot.
