Junior varsity sports

The Eudora High School junior varsity volleyball team had a tournament in Ottawa Sept. 22 and went 2-3, earning sixth place out of 12 teams.

The team went 1-1 Sept. 25 at Spring Hill.

The first game against Spring Hill went to three games with Eudora winning 25-20, 20-25, 15-13.

Paola defeated Eudora in two 23-25, 21-25.

The junior varsity squad went 1-1 Sept. 13 at Wellsville. The scores of the Ottawa match were 17-25, 15-2 in favor of Ottawa.

The scores of the Wellsville match were 25-20 and 26-24 with Eudora coming out on top.

The team had a tournament in Ottawa over the weekend and went 2-3, earning sixth place out of 12 teams.

Kaya Riemann led a sweep of the junior varsity girls cross country race Sept. 13 at Wellsville with Hannah Pittman in second and Steph Hoese in third.

The junior varsity boys were led by 12th-place Isaac Smoots in a personal record time of 22:58.

In junior varsity competition Sept. 24 at Tonganoxie, Hoese raced to second place and Pittman was fifth.

John Hadle, who took fifth, and Colby Root, (13th) raced personal bests and Zac Courter (14th) medaled to lead the boys to a fifth-place finish.

Scoring for EHS were Chase Brecheisen, 47th, Isaac Smoots, 68th, and Justin Wellman, 79th.
