Letter: EudoraFest’s success a yearlong effort
October 25, 2007
EudoraFest 2007 was fantastic. The 11th EudoraFest was the biggest one we've ever had. Main Street was packed with people. Vendor signup totaled 123. The car show had some real cool vehicles. The garden tractor pull had a large following. The talent show and entertainment was great. Even the cakewalk had a lot of winners.
We were proud to recognize our city crew who started at 5 a.m. putting up road signs, bringing in bleachers, picnic tables, port-a-potties, trash cans and anything else we asked them to do. C-HAWKK provided the road signs the city crews set up.
Last week's issue of The Eudora News showed a picture of the city crews (water, streets, electric) with their citizenship awards honoring them for many years of helping with this event. By the way, it was 8:30 p.m. when they had everything put away and Main Street was opened again to traffic.
Guess what? We have 18 vendors already signed up for EudoraFest 2008. We have several of the entertainment people signed up for next year and we have some volunteer help signed up. However, we need more help and ideas. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome. Come to our meetings. The dates and times are printed in The Eudora News.
We appreciate everyone who helped make this event a great success.
Barbara Tuttle, Chairperson
and the EudoraFest Committee
