Memorial services for Barbara L. Long, 80, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Eudora Chapel. Private family inurnment will be in Eudora Cemetery.
Mrs. Long died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at her home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Spring Hill, the daughter of Wilbur L. and Ruth Brown Hartley. She graduated from Spring Hill High School.
Mrs. Long worked at Olathe Naval Air Base, Farmland Co-op, Sunflower Army Ammunition plant and the Kansas University continuing education department from 1979 until she retired in 1993. She was an avid dancer and was active in Abdallah Shrine of Overland Park.
She married Robert "Bob" Long on June 10, 1950, in Spring Hill. He died July 4, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Flory and Sheryl Long, both of Eudora; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary before the services.
The family suggests memorials to Shriners Crippled Children, sent in care of the Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora, KS 66025.
