Services for Vencil Herbert Smith, 68, Pocahontas, Ark., were Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Cox-Waymon Chapel in Pocahontas, Ark.
Mr. Smith died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.
He was born Aug. 15, 1939, in Hagerman, N.M., the son of James and Osia Wilson Smith.
He married Judy Kay Branch on March 17, 1958, in Fort Madison, Iowa. He married Deborah Bright in February 1975. After several years, he remarried Judy Kay.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Smith, of the home; four daughters, Jody J. Smith and Cindy Beaumont, both of Kingman, Ariz., Heather Maxwell, Marion, and Holly Dorman, Oklahoma; four sons, Michael Smith and Richard Smith, both of Eudora, Vencil William Smith, Lee's Summit, Mo., Joshua Smith, Conway; four brothers, Victor Smith, James E. Smith, Ronald J. Smith, and Matthew Smith; five sisters, Joyce L. Hilton, Bonnie R. Hotop, Letha E. Pippinger, Ester White, and Virginia Hartness; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Samuel Smith.
