Soaring temperatures have caused Eudora High football coach Aaron Barnett to alter his practice schedule somewhat this week, but, ready or not, the Cardinals travel to Paola Friday night for their season opener. They will be forced to play without their top offensive lineman Brent Whitten (above, wearing black shorts) who has a slight ligament tear in his right knee. Whitten hopes to return for next week|s game against Louisburg. In the meantime, Whitten is relegated to the role of observer.
