Patterns in the wood start to come out as a coat of finish dries on the body of a guitar built by Scot Hamlin for his grandchildren. Hamlin normally builds between two to three custom guitars a year. He works during the day for the Franklin County Road Department.

The cast of "Showtime" belts out a song during rehearsal Tuesday evening. The performance will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium at Eudora Middle School, 2635 Church St. Tickets are $5 each and the proceeds will go to help the Eudora Ministerial Alliance food pantry.
