Crowds flock to city’s new $1 million pool
Two-year-old Haley Barham frolics in the fountains Saturday in the Eudora Aquatic Center’s zero-depth entry area. The center opened for the first time last weekend after wet weather caused several construction delays.

Seventeen-year-old Chase West launches into the air and into a dive Saturday during the first day of operation at the Eudora Aquatic Center. In addition to six swimming lanes, the pool offers a diving well, a water slide, a lazy river and a zero-depth entry point.
The zero-depth entry area offers swimmers everything from burbling fountains to buckets that periodically dump water. Nearby a large blue and yellow umbrella provides shade to those outside of the pool.
