Graduation time to celebrate for students, families
Max Alvarez files into the gym as the Eudora High School band played Edward Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance.” In all, 106 students graduated Saturday.
Graduates smile during a slideshow featuring baby photos of each student. The show gave students the opportunity to see how their classmates looked then and now.
The Eudora High School class of 2007 chose former teacher and coach Scott Stein to deliver the commencement address. Stein urged the students to take responsibility in their lives.
The Eudora High School choir serenaded the graduation crowd Saturday. Their rendition of Sting’s “Fields of Gold” was followed by the song “Shout Glory” by Byron Smith.

Tim Fredrickson gives a thumbs up after receiving his diploma Saturday. Each student also received a white rose, which was the 2007 class flower.
Foreign exchange student Fredrica Engstrom and members of the class of 2007 turn their tassels Saturday at graduation. In doing so, they symbolically ended their academic careers at Eudora High School and began the rest of their lives. Afterward, the class screamed wildly and unleashed a storm of canned string in celebration.
String and balloons were the favors of choice to celebrate graduation Saturday. After the screaming died down the graduates went to the Eudora High School commons for a reception.
